The
Congressional Black Caucus Institute (CBCI) is a non-profit
501(c)4 entity serving the Congressional Black Caucus
by: (a) developing and training political candidates
and future leaders; (b) researching and analyzing
the redistricting process and preserving minority
voting representation; and (c) increasing the presence
of African-Americans in the public policy and service
sector. The Board of Directors of the CBCI is chaired
by Congressman Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) and is comprised
of corporate leaders, academic leaders, labor leaders
and members of the Congressional Black Caucus. For

Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is comprised
of corporate leaders, academic leaders, labor leaders
and members of the Congressional Black Caucus.
Activities:
The
primary activities of the Institute include: (1) development
and training of political candidates, leaders and
tacticians, (2) research and analysis relating to
the redistricting process and the preservation of
minority voting representation, and (3) increasing
the presence of African Americans in the public policy
and service sectors. The Institute creates opportunities
for young African Americans whose backgrounds, interests
and aspirations guide them toward public service.
